Waterfall cascade taps can be startling to people who are used to old fashioned taps, where the water flows unadorned from the tap into the basin. In a waterfall cascade tap the water flows over a disc, or a platform, or down a structure that looks like a trough. The taps also tend to be set at an angle, which allows the water to flow more easily and in a way that’s more esthetically pleasing to the user.

Waterfall taps almost always have single levers that control the water temperature. Because of their single levers, they require single hole mounts in the sink, which might be an inconvenience to a customer who has previously used a three hole mount. Some of them are made of gleaming chrome, satin nickel or gold. They have glass discs that can be clear, green, smoked, or many other colors. These taps go very well with futuristic bathrooms that are full of shiny or reflective surfaces and neutral colors. They would be startling in an old fashioned bathroom, with ruffled shower curtains, fuzzy bath mats and warm pink or yellow paint on the walls.

Some waterfall cascade taps are tall and deceptively old fashioned looking. They’re made of less shiny material like oil rubbed nickel or bronze and are sometimes topped with familiar knobs that are twisted or raised. Other taps have the water forced out through a slit in the spout. At least one of these cascading taps pours water colored by LEDs. The reason for these colors, besides beauty, is to let the user know the water temperature, with blue light for cold water, green light for warm water and red light for hot water.

The taps can range from not very expensive to very pricey. But for a modern bathroom, waterfall cascade taps can add a surprising, modernistic touch of elegance.

Nine times out of ten the cause of all dripping taps is to do with a washer, and this is very easy to replace and repair yourself. Some people don’t have the confidence to undertake this type of task and suffer, with the constant drip or stained basins and baths.

I can assure you that this is a simple task and one that anyone can, so if your not sure just read the simple steps below and make your mind up for yourself.

You’ll need a screwdriver and a bag of different sized washers before you begin.

First off you need to isolate the water supply and turn it off, normally there is a valve under the sink which is connected to a pipe that runs up to your tap. You should have two pipes and two vales, one for your hot water and one for your cold. You should turn both valves to the left using e screwdriver and then run both taps until e water stops which shouldn’t take that long.

To replace a tap washer you need to remove the caps of both taps to reveal a screw underneath, you then proceed to remove which will then allow you to life off the tap itself. There should be a nut which you then also remove using the adjustable spanner, this should allow you to remove the head gear assembly which should have a washer around it. There should be wear and tear on the washer which will give you an indication to which tap is leaking, you then replace the faulty washer (you may as well replace the other one while you’re at it) and then fit it all back together in the same way in which we took it apart.

This shouldn’t take you long to do and if you are thinking of replacing your bathroom or kitchen taps then take a look at what we have on offer. We have the best kitchen and bathroom taps around, at the best prices, and we’re not just saying that, we also offer free next day delivery to!

Replacing a kitchen or bathroom tap doesn’t have to be hard or expensive, you can do it yourself which means you won’t have to hire anyone and you can buy your new bathroom or kitchen taps from us. We supply the latest taps in a whole range of styles and designs to suit anyones needs. You’ll also find it hard to find our taps anywhere cheaper as we order directly from the manufacturer and pass the savings on to you. We also try to get your product delivered within 24 hours from purchase by a reputable courier company.

How To Replace A Kitchen Or Bathroom Tap

To start off you will need to get yourself the following items, you’ll need a screwdriver, an adjustable spanner and a cloth. You’ll also be happy to know that fitting a tap has got a lot easier over the years as manufacturers make there designs more easy and less complex.

First off you need to look for an isolation ball valve which is normally on the type(s) in the cupboard below the sink itself. It’s should look like a screw in the middle of the pipe which you turn to your left using the screwdriver we grabbed earlier. Once you have done this run the taps until the water trapped in them has passed through and then go back into the cupboard where the valve were.

This is where we start to replace the taps. Above the valves we just switched off (you may just have one valve and one pipe) there should be a nut which you should now remove using the adjustable spanner. There should also be a nut and bolt below the work surface that secures the tap in place, remove that and pull the tap up from above and remove the tap and pipes completely.

Now you can fit your brand new one supplied by us with everything you need to simply drop in back in the place of the old one by reversing the process of taking out your old one.

Its as simple as that!

If you get stuck or need any help just simply leave a comment and someone will answer you.

How To Choose The Correct Shower To Suit Your Home

Starting the day with fresh, invigorating shower is one of the the best ways to start your day off, but if you choose the wrong shower or your current shower is of poor quality then you might find this article helpful in choosing the correct shower to suit your home. Showers are convenient, space-saving, and also energy efficient, using on average only a fraction of the water it takes to fill a bath. Before choosing a shower for your bathroom, you will need to check your water pressure, you will also need to make a choice between a mixer shower, electric shower or power shower.

Check your water pressure.
Find out what sort of hot water supply you have, as this can have an effect on your choice of shower. Combination boilers offer the highest water pressure, but do not work well with power showers or shower booster pumps as the combination boiler does not allow for dragging of water feeds, but work well with mixer showers where the hot and cold water supplies must be at equal pressure for effective showering. If your home has a low-pressure gravity fed water system where hot water is stored in a tank in the airing cupboard and the cold water is supplied from a tank in the loft, then you will enjoy a reasonably powerful shower as long as there is at least a one metre drop from the bottom of the cold water storage tank to the top of the shower head, add a shower booster pump or a power shower to get the most from your shower. If the drop is less than 1 meter and you don’t want to install a booster pump or pumped shower it may be possible to raise the cold water tank by placing it on a platform giving you a greater gravity drop. If you need further assistance with assessing water pressure, a qualified plumber or professional bathroom installer will be able to help. For homes with high-pressure systems, a mixer shower will perform best taking water from both the hot and cold water supplies and mixing them to accurately via the shower valve to reach the desired temperature, making mixer showers ideal for homes with a plentiful supply of pressurised hot water. Choose from exposed shower valves, rigid riser showers where the pipe work is easily installed to your tiles, or concealed shower valves where the valve is seen, but the pipe work is hidden behind the wall.

Thermostatic mixer shower
The addition of thermostatic mixer control gives added convenience as an inbuilt thermostat ensures water temperature is constant and may also include a locked max temputure switch to prevent scaulding, which can be overided. A safe option for young children, or the elderly, this is also a good choice for busy family homes as the inbuilt control also ensures that the water temperature will not be affected by water being used elsewhere in the house.

Shower Panel Towers.
For a luxurious variation on the mixer shower. Why not try the full body shower experience, offered by the shower panel towers with built in shower body jets. Unlike the traditional mixer shower with just one fixed head, these stylish showers feature directional jets which massage and clean the whole body. This type of shower requires fairly high pressure to perform well.

Power Showers.
Ideal for homes with low water pressure, but are a heavy drain on water rescources as power showers use a lot more water than any traditional shower, sometimes more than having a bath. a power shower will take water feeds from the hot and cold storage tanks, mix them together to reach the ideal temperature and then boost water flow with a small built in electric pump. It’s easy to operate and there is greater control over both the pressure and temperature of water than with a mixer shower, resulting in an exhilarating shower experience.

Electric Showers.
Suitable for any domestic water system, an electric shower will only take water from the mains cold water supply, heating up only the amount used each time, making it an economical choice, and also suitable for busy family bathrooms where showers are in frequent use. The greater the KW rating, the higher the flow of water at desired temperature. Look for models featuring a stabiliser as this will ensure the temperature and water supply remain unaffected by other water usage elsewhere in the house.

Special features to look for.
Multi-spray showerheads offer a choice of spray patterns usually selected by rotating the outer-ring on the spray head. Also look for large ceiling mounted showerheads offering a rain-style shower.

Accessories.
Look for soap dishes or hanging hooks, often supplied with electric showers and rigid riser showers.
Easy-grip controls
Look for dials that are easy to grip, turn and clearly labelled.

Being able to quickly and easily choose the correct style, size and heat output (Btu`s) of radiators for your home comes down to several factors, but the main factors are briefly outlined in this article.

How to choose the style radiator for your home
There are many styles of radiators available online and in shops today. Traditional column radiators, flat panel radiators, towel radiators for bathrooms or modern aluminum panel radiators. Choose a radiator that suits the style of your room or home, modern style homes would require either something conventional like a panel style radiator or a more traditional cottage style home would require a radiator like horizontal column radiators or cast radiators, some modern homes suit a traditional look if done correctly this is another area where you could use the column radiators but creating a modern feel by using the tall vertical column radiators that can be supplied in white and then painted to suit the color and décor of the room. As a rule of thumb designer sleek looking radiators look great in your home by adding a focal point to the room, but the draw back on buying a designer radiator is low heat output, making your home colder in winter and costing more money in heating bills due to ineffective low efficiency in your radiators heat output.

How to choose the size of radiators required for your home
Radiators as we all know come in various sizes, there is no defined size of radiator that should be used in your home because it is the heat output of the radiator that is important factor. All radiators are generally placed under windows to warm the cold air as it enters the window area; radiators are also located near doorways to again warm the cold air that circulates throughout the house. You can take into account that if your home is well insulated with good draft free windows, you then have open options for the placement of the radiator on any wall. This is great if your want to create a designer look room or just want to organize the room better, in most cases it is a fairly inexpensive job to move the radiator pipe work so you get to pick the correct size radiator to suit your room.

How to choose the correct Heat output (Btu`s) radiator to heat your room
All radiators have a temputure output rating called Btu`s (British thermal units) or another rating is called watts. When buying any radiator always check the btus or watts of a radiator as these will give you the correct output you need to heat your room. If you don’t understand how to calculate the btus required for a room you 1st need to calculate the size of the room, width, length, height you then need to calculate the insulation levels. This is all no easy task, this is why it’s best to use an online Btu calculator like ………….. Recommended. Just enter some simple information into a few fields then you have your btus and watts so you know what is the correct heat output radiator for your room.

So hopefully now you have a great idea of what to look for when buying radiators for your home, here is an other online resource to get you started buying your radiators www.radiatorsuperstore.co.uk

You can use this article on your site but you must use inclued the links back to Radiator Superstore

You probably should start with kitchen remodeling, since that is where the most heat is exchanged. You cook in there, you eat sometimes, you entertain guests, do laundry, store food stuffs, keep all kinds of appliances ranging from basic to complex electrical, to simple kitchen utensils and all of that. After you might have done all of that for long enough, the cooking space is going to start to fall apart right before your very eyes. You may not even see it at first, but one day you will see the cracks and you will need to fix them.

Recreating your bathroom may not seem like much because there usually aren’t as many fixtures, but often the two ventures tend to match in pricing because they require extensive reworking of almost everything if you are to get the best results.

Kitchen remodeling will have you changing a few appliances and equipment, and buying a number of new ones as well. When you remodel a kitchen, you may want to redo the floors, repaint the walls, perhaps change the sink, change the countertops, and generally create more space in which you get around.

Bathroom remodeling really is not that far behind. You may desire to install a Jacuzzi instead of the old bathtub, which is a major project that involves piping and plumbing and a lot of electrical stuff. The floor and lavatory may also be serious works that you have to contemplate.

By and by, these two major home improvement projects are going to cost you big time, so you want to prepare for them with a budget and a workable plan. Without them, you’d be making a big mess of everything.

Have a look at our stock for bathrooms and kitchens as each item will come with a 10 year guarantee and free delivery, you also wont be able to find these items cheaper anywhere else. click here

The Durability and Care of Glass Bathroom Sinks

Modern home decor is fast becoming a favorite styling trend among homeowners and glass bathroom sinks complement it perfectly. There is a rapidly growing array of such bath fixtures in the market, many of which are so unique that they can easily become the focal point for any bathroom.

Glass bathroom sinks sit directly on top of the furniture where they are mounted. They are a growing trend for use in high end homes and are becoming more and more popular as they are also becoming more affordable.

From simple to ornate, these vanities are a beautiful addition to any bathroom and are changing the look of today’s home. They have many advantages beyond their beauty. The tempered glass from which they are made does not stain and is very easy to clean. Hard water deposits and rust that often stain the ordinary white ceramic vessels will not be a problem in the case of glass.

Glass bathroom sinks are available in a wide variety of shapes, styles and designs. Choose from an ornately patterned flower design or a simple solid blue fluted vessel. A simple 16 inch gray frosted bowl vessel sink is less expensive than a traditional one, but more interesting and easier to clean. Generally ornate vessels sell for £200 and up. For £1,000 your glass sink options include an interesting array of styles and colors.

Many newcomers to the world of bathroom decorating are concerned about the durability of these sinks. A quality glass sink is designed to withstand changes in temperature of up to 70 degrees without harm. It is recommended, however to avoid more extreme temperature changes over 120 degrees. If the glass cracks, it will have to be replaced.

Most glass sinks will not be damaged when dropping an ordinary bathroom object into the bowl, such as a hairbrush or plastic bottle. A heavier item, such as that which might damage ordinary porcelain, may crack or shatter the glass as well. Using some reasonable caution is advisable.

When cared for correctly, a glass sink will maintain its beauty for years to come. A solution of vinegar and water will remove any spots that do not come off easily and abrasive cleaners should not be used.

It is a good idea to have these sinks installed by a professional. It is important to make all the necessary plumbing attachments with care. Drains and faucet attachments should only be hand-tightened. Over tightening can put too much pressure on the glass and cause it to break.
